Members of the National Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress on Friday visited the Presidential Villa after holding an emergency closed-door meeting.
Although details remained sketchy as of press time, the meeting took place a few hours after the Supreme Court’s judgment, which held that the APC did not hold a valid primary in Zamfara State.

The apex court voided the votes of the party in the just concluded general elections.
It could not be ascertained if the Zamfara’s judgement was discussed but the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, quickly left the meeting venue without talking to journalists.
Other members of the NWC left shortly after in a vehicle for the Aso Rock Villa wearing long faces.
But reacting to the judgement, the APC National Vice-Chairman for South-South, Hillard Etta, who spoke with journalists on the telephone, said it was a sad day for every member of the APC.
“It is a sad day for every member of the APC. It’s a very sad day for us.
“For me, I am a Democrat. The issue of internal democracy is a serious problem in our country, but it is work in progress. We have made a lot of stride in the party.”
On whether the party mismanaged the crisis in Zamfara, he said, “ I don’t think that the party mismanaged the crises in our Zamfara State chapter. We don’t have any option than to accept the judgment of the supreme court and go ahead and learn some lessons from it. That is what I can say for now.”
