The management of the Ekiti State University has requested the State government to increase the monthly subvention to the institution. This is in order to avail it with the opportunity of recruiting more academic and non-academic staff to level up with the NBTE Accreditation.

The Rector of the Polytechnic, Professor Johnson Adesodun made this disclosure during the students’ matriculation for the 2021/2022 academic session, which took place at the Isan-Ekiti-based campus.

He advised students not to indulge in nefarious activities which could distract them from their academics and goals.

Professor Adesodun maintained that the students would be nurtured in a way that they will easily contribute tremendously to the development of the nation.

Meanwhile, the Rector seized the opportunity of the gathering to disclose how the institution has started seeking supports from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFUND, to ensure accelerated infrastructural development.

Adesodun stated that the funds gotten from TETFUND would be adequately used to make the institution a conducive place for academic activities.

JAMB Coordinator in the State, Abdulhameed Akeem, revealed how the institution has witnessed more developments, since it was established two years ago.

In a separate engagement with the matriculants, one Oyeyemi Imisioluwa, another Olaleye Tolulope and Akpa Victor expressed joy for securing admission into the highly esteemed institution. They promised to follow the stipulated rules.

A total of fifty-seven students were matriculated to pursue various courses in Accountancy, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering and Agricultural Technology.
