Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has reportedly been urged to kickstart the process of confirming, installing and also presenting Prince Bamidele Ekunsanmi with the staff as the Olofun of Irele.
This was in the light of the verdict of an Ondo State High Court which sat in Okitipupa.
On the kingmakers choosing the designated king, the appointment of Prince Olanrewaju Ayeromora as the Regent of Ode-Irele was nullified, declared illegal by a judgement delivered by High Court Justice Tope Adedipe. He was further stopped from further parading himself as the Regent of the town.
The Opetusin Ruling house led by the trio of High Chiefs Olusola Olajide, Bamidele Olamigoke, and Jacob Omokungbe, the Oloja of Akingboye and Chairman of Ode Irele Kingmakers, approached the court insisting on a declaration that having validly nominated, presented and elected Prince Bamidele Ekunsanmi as the Olofun-elect to the Ode-Irele stool, he should be presented with the staff of office.
The suit involved the regent, Prince Adeniyi Olarewaju Ayeromora, and Victor Adedeji, Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of Irele Local Government.
