Owo: Many Injured, As Bandits Shell Again
Gunmen who are suspected to be gunmen have reportedly wreaked havoc in Owo, Ondo State again, thereby leaving many (unspecified) injured.
The said attack happened in less that two months after terrorists terminated no fewer than 40 lives at the Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Owo.
Reports have it that many were injured in the unexpected attack which happened on Wednesday evening, at Folahanmi Junction, where a construction company, Craneburg Construction Company was sighted.
Explosives were donated, just like fire was opened on innocent individuals working on the site.
What remained unclear was whether casualties were recorded.
Funmi Odunlami, speaking for the State’s Police Command confirmed the incident and said three persons were injured.
Odunlami said she could not confirmed if the attackers are terrorists or mere bandits.
“Tonight, there was a shooting incident at Craneburg Construction Company Owo, Policemen are currently at the scene, victims have been taken to Hospital and they are in stable condition,” she told Vanguard.
”We cannot ascertain the casualty figure now and we also cannot say it was a terrorists’ attack with the use of explosives devices but tomorrow morning , the EOD men of the command would go to the scene.”
Odunlami appealed to residents not to panic that the situation was under control
