The lawmaker representing Ibadan North East 1 in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olamide Akinajo, has requested that he be distanced from the impeachment move against Deputy Governor Rauf Olaniyan.

It was gathered that Akinajo had earlier resisted the inclusion of his name on the list of legislators who appended their signature on the petition against Olaniyan. With such development, the number of those who signed the petition had been reduced to 23.

Sources have also maintained that the leadership of the House of Assembly regrets listing his name as one of the subscribers to the impeachment move. It was gathered that the leadership of the house has yesterday informed Olaniyan of the impeachment move against him.

In a letter addressed by the clerk of the house, Yetunde Awe, and addressed to Olaniyan, he said the error in the letter addressed earlier was regretted.
