The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Wednesday arrived Garoua Cameroon aboard a chartered Air Peace flight for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, which starts on Sunday January 9, 2022.

Wednesday arrived Garoua Cameroon aboard a chartered Air Peace flight for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, which starts on Sunday January 9, 2022.

This will be the three-time African champions 19th appearance at the AFCON stage and they will be having their first match on Tuesday January 11 against the six-time Champions the Pharaohs of Egypt.

The Nigerian team left Abuja with 25 players as they await the arrival of Al Shabab’s Odion Ighalo, Venezia’s Tyronne Ebuehi and Paderborn’s Jamiliu Collins.

Nigeria is in Group D alongside Egypt, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau. They also have games fixed for January 15 and January 19.

Tomorrow the team will take on Cameroonian champions Coton Sport in a friendly match at the practice pitch of Roumde Adjia Stadium behind closed doors.
