Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike  has said the People's Democratic Party, PDP, must take advantage of the failures of President Muhammadu Buhari's government in 2023 elections.

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has said the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, must take advantage of the failures of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government in 2023 elections.

Wike said the Buhari led All Progressives Congress, APC, government has failed woefully. He also claimed that the president does not scrutinize any document brought before him before appending his signature to such documents.

He also warned that it would be difficult for God to forgive PDP if it fails to take advantage of what he described as the APC’s non- performance in government.

Wike said:

“APC has failed in all areas particularly in the area of security. With good leadership, most of Nigeria’s problems would be solved.

“This is not the kind of Nigeria we want, every day you wake up in the morning to hear that some people are being killed. It’s caused by the ability of the government to protect us. Farmers can’t even go to farms anymore due to kidnappers anywhere. I’m sure if you had an opportunity to go back to the womb, you wouldn’t want to come back here.”

He spoke on Saturday in Bauchi, the state capital when he visited his PDP counterpart, Governor Bala Mohammed on New Year’s Day.

Wike also wondered why the President was quick to sign the 2022 budget despite saying it was unimplementable but was reluctant to sign the Electoral Act presented by the National Assembly while giving flimsy excuses.”

Speaking on Gov Bala Mohammed’s presidential ambition, he said he was qualified to fly the PDP ticket in the 2023 presidential election and he will be warmly welcomed to contest.

Wike added that Nigerians are dying daily due to the inability of the APC-led government to secure the lives of its citizens adding that only the PDP can salvage the situation.
