Residents of Awomama, Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State are fleeing their home as their houses, properties including hotel, houses, shops and vehicles have been set on fire by the Nigerian military personnel.

This followed a revenge mission by Soldiers whose colleague was allegedly killed by yet-to-be-identified gunmen at Ishieke Junnction.

The Soldiers, who were said to have left after the killing of their colleague, reportedly returned in larger number to avenge the death.

The spokesperson of the 34 Artillery Brigade Command of the Nigerian Army in Owerri, the Imo State capital, Captain Joseph Akuboh, could not be reached for comment.
