Officials of the Nigerian Railway corporation, NRC, on Thursday, October 21 confirmed that terrorist bandits bombed part of the Abuja-Kaduna train track.
The terrorists launched the attack between Wednesday night and Thursday morning and railway services on the route had been suspended but officials stated that investigations were ongoing to determine if the facility was actually bombed as widely speculated.
The development was confirmed by a former Senator from Kaduna State, Shehu Sani, on his verified Twitter handle.
According to him, the bandits attacked the train on the route on Wednesday, October 20.
“Yesterday (Wednesday) terrorists attacked the Kaduna-Abuja railway with an explosive and opened fire on the train, targeting the engine driver and the tank.
The Abuja/Kaduna Train Service Station Manager, Paschal Nnorli, confirmed to our correspondent that there was an attack on the train, but could not tell if it was with an explosive.
“Yes, there was an attack, but right now I cannot confirm if it was an explosive or bomb attack as people are saying.” he added.
