A lecturer of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko has been reportedly kidnapped by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in Akure.

The don, Mayowa David Adinlewa was kidnapped along Akure-Ikere road while traveling to visit his relatives in Ikere, Ekiti State.

The victim who earlier spoke with his wife in an audio conversation told her he was in the bush and that he wandered for hours without eating and drinking.

He stated that his legs was already burnt owing to the heat of trekking. He revealed that his phone would soon be deprived of him.

The wife replied by requesting to know his location, not until she was interrupted in Pidgin by someone saying “You hear me so,” before the call ended.

The elder brother of the victim spoke with journalists, he said his elder brother was kidnapped and that a ransom of 10million has been demanded.

The head of information and protocol unit of AAUA, Mr Victor Akinpelumi said the incident is still sketchy and promised to get back to Daily Sun.
