Not fewer than 75 students abducted at the Government Day Secondary School, Kaya, Maradun Local Government of Zamfara State have been released.

The news was broken overnight by the NTA on its official Facebook page.

Mohammed Sheu, the spokesman to Zamfara State Police revealed how a large number of armed bandits stormed the Government Day Secondary School in the distant Kaya. Seizing not fewer than 73 pupils.

“The abduction followed the invasion of the school by large numbers of armed bandits,” he had stated.

Police Rescue Teams have been working in synergy with the military in order to secure their release.

Five of them were released within 24 hours.

A former Councillor revealed how one of the younger brother’s daughter fortunately fixed into the league of the released 5. They have since been returned to their hometown in Kaya.

Nobody knows if any ransom was paid to secure their release from their abductors.

Following the abduction, the Zamfara State Government had ordered the immediate deboarding of boarding facilities in 30 schools.
