A parent with undisclosed name produced a video report during the previous week, exposing the lapses and defects in the hostel her child was given at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
The Kwameh Nkrumah hall of the University of Nigeria appears to have been poorly used, maintained and taken care of. Relying on the documentary evidence produced by the troubled parent who could not bear the eyesore in the school hostel.
The parent whose teenager daughter has been leaving in a room that looks like a Ghetto felt the authority of the university has downplayed the prestige and value attached the university for years.
She couldn’t help to believe students can be made to leave in such rooms, not even when the building is dilapidated already, the windows broken and toilets scary.
The parent believes students should be allowed to increase what they pay in order to enjoy the value of their money.
In her words: “It is unfortunate I met this kind of hostel when I came into this compound. Look at where human beings are leaving.
“I couldn’t believe what I saw. I was highly disappointed. Everybody is struggling to come into UNN, believing it is a good school. But how could a school of this nature, a big school given the name of Nigeria bring children born by human beings and dump them here like goats. Goats cannot even live in this kind of place.
She conclusively said what they are paying is too small to drive the maintenance of the place but that they can add to it and make the innocent children enjoy the value of their money.
