The 28th day of July 2021, has been slated to hear the case about the validity of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s emergence as governor on the 10th of October, 2020.
Eyitayo Jegede, the PDP governorship candidate has earlier appealed the position of the court of Appeal on the matter of Akeredolu’s emergence.
You will recall that Justice Theresa Orji-Abadua of the Appeal court dismissed as a matter of fact the petition filed by Jegede. This pronouncement was made on the 16th July, 2021.
Four and a half of the seven issues raised were said to have been timely decided at the advantage of Eyitayo Jegede, the candidate of the PDP. Just two and a half were decided in favour of Akeredolu.
Not satisfied with the decision of the Appellate Court, both Akeredolu, Jegede, and INEC approached the Supreme Court for the invalidation of both the Election Petition Tribunal and Appeal Court.
