The National Agency For Food And Drug, Administration And Control, NAFDAC has pitched its tent with Moderna and Sputnik. The agency said it is passing its vote of confidence on the said vaccines having discovered the level they can go in fighting and combating resurging COVID-19.
Prof. Moji Adeyeye, the Director – General of NAFDAC said the vaccines were approved to see to the emergency need for the country to protect herself.
Sputnik which is yet to be approved by the World Health Organisation has been researched on independently by NAFDAC, hence, the decision to get it approved.
Adeyeye who chose to be represented by the Director, Planning Research and Statistics, Mr. Fori Tatama has vowed to have consistently worked on a better health for Nigerians, through the instrumentality of NAFDAC.
Adeyeye said, “The WHO is carrying out an audit of NAFDAC, which will enable the country to start manufacturing vaccines; the programme started on Monday and will last till Friday.”
