The entire members of staff of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED), Odo-Noforija, Epe Division, Lagos State have been thrown into panic as news filtered in that one of their former colleagues, a retired Chief lecturer in the School of Sciences, Department of Integrated Science, Dr TL Ibrahim was kidnapped.
Sources told Ekohotblog that the incident took place this evening at his Iragunshin residence. It was gathered that the assailants, patiently waiting for the victim’s arrival in a black Honda Element, was whisked away at his house gate while returning home.
Confirming the incident, a source who doesn’t want to be named disclosed to Ekohotblog that the assailants may have trailed the victim on the premise that he had got paid for his retirement benefits having retired from service close to two years. The source however stated that all efforts to track down the kidnappers proved abortive.
Another source disclosed that the kidnappers zoomed off the serene neighbourhood of the victim in his Hyundai SUV together with theirs. The source stated that the car was sighted along the Epe-Ijebu-Ode expressway speeding suspiciously. It was reported that Police officers who saw the vehicles said that the fugitives headed towards the Ondo-Ore expressway.
In a statement e-signed by the Union PRO tagged “Kidnap of Dr T.L Ibraheem: Appeal for Prayers by COEASU-MOCPED,” made available to Ekohotblog, the College of Education Academic Staff Union of MOCPED, COEASU-MOCPED, attests to the veracity of the incident;
“Dr TL Ibrahim, former staff of the Department of Integrated Science was kidnapped by unknown men in front of his house at Odo Iragunshin, Eredo, Epe this evening around 6 p.m. Let’s remember him in our Prayers. May Almighty Allah intervene and touch the hearts of the perpetrators for his prompt and unconditional release.
We are advised to be watchful and security conscious in our neighbourhood as the social menace is alarming and becoming unabated
May we not fall prey to our enemies Amen,”
New reporter gathered that as rescue efforts by residents, sympathizers and colleagues proved abortive, the incident was reported to the Police. Efforts are being made by the security officers to track the daredevil as at the time of filing this report.
