Sowore Fires Back At Nigeria Police, Urges Supporters To Troop Out On June 12

The human right activist, Social Justice crusader and publisher of Sahara Reporters News platform, Omoyele Sowore engaged the media for the second time, after he was violently attacked at a very close range, by one CSP Heyelhira Altine of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command.

The unexpected attack happened while some operatives of the Nigerian Police were reportedly trying to curtail a protest against the insecurity rife in Nigeria, at the popular Unity Fountain, Abuja. Omoyele Sowore, who was said to be in the league of these protesters, got attacked, secured wounds from an alleged bullet shot at close range by the police.

He took to his Twitter page to engage the country, just after his release from the undisclosed health facility he was rushed to for treatment, in his words “Nigerian Police Force shot and injured me with Fede. The plan of the Muhammadu Buhari’s regime is to eliminate anyone opposed to it but the plots have failed.”

“A policewoman, Hyeleria Daniel Altine shot me at close rand with a Federal Riot Gun of a 37mm projectile, injured me and fled back to her truck. My right thigh was split open. I have received medical treatment and returned home.”

He concluded by reminding Nigerians of the protest slated the 12th day of June, he also seized the opportunity in reiterating the fact that Nigerians are tired of the Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, not even when they are also ready to resist his anti poor policies. 

Of the many Nigerians who have reacted to the news of the attack is Ebun Olu Adegboruwa SAN, Oba Prof. Sunday Amuseghan, including many other Nigerian activist groups, agitating for the best of leadership in Nigeria. They insisted that nothing must happen to the attacked activist.
