Be Part Of Amotekun, Afenifere Advise Kwara State Governor

The Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere, has advised Kwara State Governor Abdullah man Abdulrazaq to be part of Amotekun security project being canvassed in the Southwest.

The pan Yoruba group said this after a meeting of its Kwara State chapter, held in Ilorin.

According to a statement by the Chairman and Public Relations Officer of the Kwara State chapter, Lekan Alabi and Comrade Adeleye Adebayo, the group said: “Apart from the cultural and linguistic affinity of Kwara State with the Southwest states, the ravaging herdsmen have caged many of our communities and subjected them to avoidable trauma, just as it was being done to our kith and kin in the Southwest states.

“Our farms are being ravaged with impunity by the herdsmen and we have become prisoners in our land.

“In the light of above, we call on Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to key into the Amotekun security project as proposed by the Yoruba states. This will prevent unnecessary loss of lives, loss of property and anguish that herdsmen/community clashes could bring”.

The group decried the reported abduction of a member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Maraba Garage branch, Ilorin, Mallam Taofeeq Ali.

He was said to have been kidnapped at Ibi village near Kainji, Niger State.
